PROGRAM NOTE
In the summer of 2011, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Berlin to study with one of the great composers and teachers of the last half century, Samuel Adler. Under his guidance, I wrote this virtuosic cello duo as a kind of melancholy and tense dialogue between two lovers, hence the title of the work.
